Overview
Maja Laskowska (she/her) is a Polish actor based in London. After receiving a drama scholarship, Maja relocated from Gdańsk aged sixteen to attend a sixth form college in London. Following this, what she would call ‘wild time’, Maja pursued her academic interests and went on to complete a BA in Comparative Literature and Film in King’s College London where she grew her love for European philosophy and annoyed her tutors with questions about the ‘uncanny’. Upon graduating, Maja performed with National Youth Theatre, at Edinburgh Fringe Festival and made her screen debut in Melody opposite Maisie Richardson-Sellers. The pair were awarded Best Duo Award at LAFA (August 2019). She then went on to complete an MA in Performance Making at Goldsmiths University. Maja’s most notable credits include The Way (BBC, ITV Studios), International Emmy nominated Life and Death in the Warehouse (BBC Studios), Trigonometry (BBC Two) and Baptiste opposite Tchéky Karyo (BBC One). In her spare time, Maja misses horse riding through the Polish woodlands, but makes up for it by mastering stream of consciousness writing on her notes app and cultivating an obsession with unusual book covers on Vinted.
