Charlotte trained at LAMDA, and the St Petersburg School of Dramatic Art in Russia. She speaks fluent Russian, and a little French, has acted in both, and even played a Norwegian medic in Sky Atlantic's Fortitude. She will shortly be seen in Guerilla (Fifty Fathoms) and among other TV roles has appeared in Luther, Silent Witness, A Single Father, Eastenders, Holby City (BBC), Spooks (Kudos Productions). She began her theatre career in the brilliant drama society of the University of Manchester, touring with several successful productions to Edinburgh, Vienna and Milan. Her most recent theatre work was with Menagerie Theatre Company in Cambridge, performing in two new plays and touring to the Oxford Playhouse. Last year she played Karen in Torben Betts’ play Muswell Hill at the Park Theatre, a hugely successful Two Sheds/Park Theatre production. She has twice worked at the National Theatre directed by Howard Davies, in Burnt by the Sun and Philistines. Other theatre highlights were playing Margo in the Playactor and Donna in Kvetch both directed by Julio Maria Martino, Olive in Lullabies of Broadmoor and Peg Woffington in Masks and Faces, both directed by Caitriona Maclaughlin at the Finborough theatre. She will be seen in the forthcoming feature film Country of Hotels (dir. Julio Maria Martino), and played the main role in the short film the Nocebo Effect (dir. Clare Macdonald), which was recently screened at the Hackney Picture House. She has been in many short films, most recently When Autumn Leaves Fall (Honeybee Films) and Butterfly Circus. She has also translated several major Russian plays for theatres including the National Theatre, the Almeida, the Young Vic, and the Arcola.
