Born in South East London and growing up in South Wales, Dorothea got her first taste of the theatre at age 5 when she appeared in a 2 woman show with performance artist Rose English. Since graduating from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School she has worked extensively in theatre playing such roles as Rosalind in As You Like, Julia in Two Gentlemen of Verona, Adriana in Comedy of Errors and Varya in The Cherry Orchard (Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory) Celimene in The Misanthrope (Bristol Old Vic) Kate Hardcastle in She Stoops to Conquer (Birmingham Rep) Ann in Restoration (Headlong) Jackie Coryton in Hay Fever (Royal Exchange Theatre) and Carol in the UK premiere of This Was a Man for which she received an Offie Nomination for Best Female. She has just completed the leading role of Elizabeth Montagu in Feature Film The Honourable Rebel.
