Having initially trained as a pro footballer with Birmingham City FC's youth programme, Richard emerged from the Midlands and moved to London to pursue an acting career where he gained a full scholarship to the Giles Foreman Centre, spending 3 years training there under Giles Foreman, Christopher Fettes, and Liana Nyquist. He soon discovered the streets of London are not paved with gold. Leading parts whilst training included Tiresias in Oedipus, Barry in Leaves of Glass, Menoeceus in The Phoenician Women and The Poet in La Ronde. Since graduating, Richard's film work includes, the lead character Scott in the upcoming feature, Scott and Sid. Other screen work includes, Above The Clouds, Jack Falls, and Luke in the Oscar winning Live Action Short, Stutterer. When he isn't working Richard reads voraciously, attempts a little light poetic composition and can occasionally be found in his local bookies.
