Overview
A 2014 Rose Bruford graduate, Leila is shortly to appear as Pisania in Imogen, Matthew Dunster's re-imagining of Cymbeline for Shakespeare's Globe. Leila was born in London to a Moroccan father and Italian mother, and was raised in urban Croydon and sunny Ramsgate and is now based in down-town Waterloo. After graduation, Leila performed with Hull Truck Theatre Company, and was recently seen as a guest lead in BBC's Doctors. Leila has strong linguistic skills, is a confident Turkish speaker and has a highly developed ear for accents and dialects. She has a bubbly and creative personality, a refreshingly can-do attitude, and a diligent and committed work ethic. Her many hobbies include ice skating, cooking, knitting and clowning. She is also a tyro short story writer. Notable credits whilst training include; Annie in Serjeant Musgrave’s Dance, Bianca in Women Beware Women and significant roles in two stand-out pieces of new writing, Pink in Pests and Paris in The Litter.
